We had a great Christmas! This is a pic of me and the girls on our 4th and last day at Disney. We were all so tired!! I'll post more pics as I have time, but this is a favorite that I wanted to post. And yes, the blond IS my daughter too! If someone would've showed me this pic 10 yrs ago and told me she was my child, I would've said there's no way b/c she is soooo blond! My little blond ambition!!

She's beautiful if I do say so myself!!! Here are some new pics of the girls... these were taken when Bebe Grace (as we call her) was 2 1/2 wks old. The labor was incredibly easy... I went in, hopped in bed, got the epidural, and then they broke my water, etc... so that meant I felt no pain ever!!! The guy giving me the epidural asked, after it was in, "How's your comfort level?" And I said, "Well, see, I was good before you gave it to me, and I"m still good!" I don't think he knew we were being induced quickly before my doctor got off his rounds!! haha!! In fact, if I could skip the actual 9 or 10 months of the being pregnant part, I'd have a house full of kids!! I love the hospital part, being waited on hand and foot, etc!! haha! But she's doing great. She's sleeping really well which helps! And spoiled already... she already has David wrapped!! We are soooo enjoying this newborn. (if you know us well, we didn't enjoy A-N's baby phase even though she was incredibly easy too. Speaking of A-N, we're potty-training! Pray for us!! It's going pretty well... but when will it be over?!!! Enjoy the pics...oh, Bebe Grace weighed 7 lbs 9 oz, and was about 19 in long.

Sunday is the day! They're set to induce me then so everyone please pray for me! I'll be nervous! A-N's delivery was soooo easy, so I'm hoping for the same, but I know you never know! But in thinking about this weekend's activities, it just makes me laugh... GA's opening day is Saturday so party at our house, then Sunday- have a baby!!! We'll keep you posted... Hi! Sorry, no pics tonight to post, but just a fast blog to say 2 weeks from today we should have baby #2!! That's when I'm scheduled to be induced, and I am soooo ready!! Although I'm not looking forward to 8 weeks of no sleep!! But we'll survive!! I'll keep you posted! Sorry that's all for now, but Miss Universe is on..................

Naptime... Solved!!

We are back to normal here... PTL!! After about 1 week of Ashes sliding out of the bed on her own and coming to our room to watch Barney (and did I mention each morning was getting progressively earlier?!) David found a couple of cedar boards from the basement that we fixed up complete with purple pillow cases (to match her bedding) ... and now she's pinned in!! Let me tell you how happier she's been this week which makes us happier too! She's back to her normal daily nap, and life is good again!! And in a month from now, we should be home with Baby Brooke... all my friends who were due before me have now had all their babies, so we're next... and I'm ready! Lastly, for now, David had a mini-facelift this week! He actually had a skin cancer removed from the top of his head, but they pulled his head so tight as they were putting in the stitches, that his forehead is completely tight and wrinkle-free!!! Crazy enough, he says it's much more painful than his neck/spine surgery. They cut a hole out of his head about like a quarter and about a qt. of an inch deep. Thankfully, though, they got all the "C word", and now he's healing! We'll have to be extra careful with our girls... A-N is like him with fine,light hair... and if you know me, I don't love sunscreen... but he grew up always outside without wearing a hat, and the dr. said, he's 98% sure that the cancer came from the sun. So next summer, I'll be sure to put sunscreen on her (and Brooke) and on her part in her hair. That's all for now!! I'll keep you posted on baby news!

Naptime... Help!!

Well we've finally arrived at A-N figuring out how to get out of her "big bed" all on her own! So as cute as it is, and as sweet as it is in the mornings when she comes in our room calling, Mommy, Daddy..." naptime ain't as cute!!!!!!!! At night (so far since she's discovered this new fun thing for her to do) she goes right to bed still with no problems. Also, so far I don't mind her getting up on her own in the mornings because she still sleeps til about 10:30 or so (of course it has only been 3 mornings!). But naptime... whole 'nuther story!!! Even though she can hardly hold her eyes open, of course it's more fun to get out of bed than go to sleep! So yesterday, there was no nap. But because I got up way too early myself this morning and I'm sleepy, I took 2 of David's golf plaques (they're big) and blocked in her little "slide" that she's created and then put pillows in front of them. Today, that worked!!! She didn't move the plaques, and she's still asleep... yay!!! So guess what David's priority "honey-do" is... yep, to board up the space between her bed rails!! She's too young (and I'm too tired) for her to give up her afternoon naps!! Now to more fun news... she's picking out her own clothes these days... most days, her dresses do NOT match the shoes that she chooses!! The ONLY shoes she wants to wear were her hot pink and white tie-dyed crocs. Lovely!! So yesterday, I got her some more neutral crocs complete with a Tinkerbell on one and a flower on the other!!! These are now her new favorites. She almost slept in them last night!! (which would have been fine if that's what it would have taken for her to go to sleep!!!) I'll get some pics of her with her new shoes to post. That's is for now!!

This is Billie and David... Billie was my roommate at Liberty. They're now missionaries to Guinea, West Africa. They are back in the states on furlow, and she found out she's pregnant with AT LEAST twins... possibly triplets!!!!!!!! Wow... can you imagine?!!! They spent a week with us. Ashes has a golf club that her daddy gave her for her bday!

This is Courtney and Jon (although Ashes calls her Cory!!). "Cory" has been b-sitting her 1 day a week this summer for me, and A-N LOVES Cory!! So do we... Courtney and Jon b-sat Bentley this weekend for us to go to Florida... Well, he found the tomato tree on our deck before we left town. He only got about 1/2 of one before I saw him snacking, and well, let's just say... we had to have Courtney's carpet cleaned for them because the tomato didn't sit well on BB's tummy!! Sorry, y'all... I'm just thankful it all came up!!

We just got back from TPC Sawgrass... David had his semi-finals there... Can I tell you how nice it was? It was honestly the nicest resort that I've seen in the US. It actually compared to the all-inclusives that we love so much. And my honey did really well... He played Saturday and Sunday... On Saturday, he played the Stadium course (that's the famous one with hole #17 for those of you who aren't up on your golf knowledge). He won 2 skins that day which (again for you golf challenged friends!) means he got his ball closest to the hole on 2 different holes. On Sunday he won the whole tournament along with winning 5 skins. So he's in first place overall...which means if they clear me and Brooke to fly in September... California, here we come! Ashley-Noelle had a big time too at TPC. The Golf Channel was there filming them as they golfed and interviewing the golfers. So at the awards ceremony, they asked if she would draw the winning ticket for a trip to Mexico that they were giving away. Of course she did, and she did it so perfectly!! We were so proud!!! She got right up there in front of about 150 men, plus some with wives, and the Golf Channel people (I cannot believe I didn't have my camera with me.) Well,that's all for tonight.

Wow... it's been a really long time since I've blogged so now that it's midnight (haha) let me give you a quick update... sorry, can't add pics tonight, but i'll do that next week; I promise!! First of all, my little baby girl turned 2 ! We had a party with some of ours (and her!) friends the day before her birthday. The theme was pizza and corn-on-the-cob, because those are her favorites!!! Then on the night of her actual birthday, we celebrated with David's family at Chuck E. Cheese!! Her Nana spoiled her, allowing her to walk up the skeeball thing to toss in the balls!! Let's see... then there's David's golf tournaments... He's done really well this year, winning almost all he's played in. This weekend is the semi-finals so hopefully he'll bring home the trophy again! Get in the hole, Beeze!! Baby Brooke weighed in at 3 lbs 7 oz last week... They are set to induce me on Sept. 6... Come on baby!!! Oh, Ashley-Noelle's favorite country song in Darius Rucker's "Alright." ... a girl after my heart... I remember following Hootie and the Blowfish around all over SC back in the day! Her favorite praise song is "You are holy" except she sings, "You are ho-ee, ho-ee!" It's precious!! I'm not sure what her favorite color is, but I love to hear her say "LELLOW!" And her newest talent is counting to 5 ! Now Mommy is trying to push her to 6 !! I guess that's all for tonight. Pics to follow soon.... I'll leave you with just one of my new favs...

Here are some shots of our beautiful A-N. She got her "big girl bed" this past week. We have given her a new bedroom, complete with a glittered lilac ceiling and Tinkerbell painted on her wall. It's truly a fairy tale room... It's my girly room! We are moving the playroom upstairs to A-N's "old" nursery and moving all her nursery furniture to the other bedroom for Brooklyn Grace... who should be making her debut in only 3 months...wow!! NOT ready for NO SLEEP! Ashley-Noelle got her sleeping genes from her mommy and daddy... Brooke had better do the same!!

We went to Destin a few weeks ago, and she LOVED the ocean and the water park and flying kites and putt-putt and Krispy Kreme... you get the picture! Unlike her mommy, she did not care one bit that it was 64 degrees plus the ocean breeze (it was freezing!). She got stung by a little baby jellyfish and didn't even cry. She got her very first tan lines too! She LOVES, LOVES the beach, just like her mommy! I wonder if she'll one day lay out in Crisco too... of course, I do hope she takes a little better of her precious skin than I did.

Planting Flowers

Yesterday we spent about all day in the yard planting flowers. Ashley-Noelle was a big help... She brought us the flowers to plant, stacked all the empty pots for the trash, and later she even helped us spread mulch! Her hands were jet black! She had a blast! The funniest part was when she got sleepy and started sucking her thumb, black mulch and all! I told her that her insides were gonna be black now!

But I have an excuse... I have been SO sick with this pregnancy. The entire months of Jan and Feb were a wash for me. I was sick all day long... By the way, you know you're a grown up when you throw up, and you're home all alone- no one to feel sorry for you or hold your hair back! (except you're little precious toddler who is sitting in her Tinkerbell chair laughing histerically at you, as if you're making all that commotion purely for her enjoyment!). But then the month of March came... and I decided to stop taking my prenatals, and it was like magic... I was healed! So I called my dr and told the nurse that I was done with vitamins. She told me just to take Flintstones, and that's what I'm doing. And I'm finally enjoying life again! I have some pictures from the last couple of months... I'll get them on the blog later this week. Stay tuned...

A-N's new thing is that she likes me to curl her hair when I'm doing mine. Can I tell you I don't mind?! And today she wanted her fingernails polished. So we did them in bright princess pink. They are beautiful! Will she always stay as girlie- girl as she is now... I certainly hope so!!

This is our really good friend, Mike. He and his sweet wife, Kendra, got us back... We rolled their house in red and black the night of the GA/FL game. It was great! Well they came over to watch the SEC championship in the theatre room the other night. So......... Kendra was like, "Can I take A-N in the playroom and play?" Well, A-N went in wearing normal clothes and came out wearing this Gator cheerleading outfit!!! Even though it's really wrong, it's really cute too!!

So we left Florida and 82 degrees on New Yr's Eve and drove back to ATL where it was like 40. We stopped and got the good Florida fireworks and met our neighbors in the cul-de-sac for a fireworks show. This was our best fireworks display yet!

I can't believe this is the only picture I have from Florida. It's A-N playing dress-up with Sue's beads. She had a big time!! What a litte diva! We go every Cmas to Disney with David's dad and his sister's family. Papou always gets us a hotel at Disney, and we take the boat or bus over to the parks. This year we only went 1 day to the parks because it's the busiest time of the year-- it was crazy!! We went to Epcot and MGM. (I defintely rode the Rockin' Roller Coaster and Mission to Mars while I was pregnant because I didn't know!) David and I also went golfing. It was sunny and 80 degress... It was awesome weather!

Santa brought A-N a full kitchen set. You can see the fridge here. It's really nice! But we (I should say David) stayed up until 3 am putting just the refrigerator together so that why it's all you see here on Christmas morning! THe double oven and stove and sink got put together later in the afternoon on Cmas day!! She also got her princess throne and a princess race car and the Care Bear ball, among LOTS of other things..............!

It's been a long time since my last post... I've been so busy! I'll add some pics from Christmas later today so check back for them. But right now I feel like someone has evenly distributed a barrel of bricks over my entire body- I am soooooo tired.. from doing nothing!! Well, not nothing... I'm pregnant again!! Yay!! This Christmas Bear was walking around Lenox Mall. A-N checked out the Christmas tree at Phipps Plaza. Everytime she sees Christmas lights, she says, "oooh!" as she points to them!

Surgery Went Well!!

David's surgery was "textbook" as the doctor said, and he also said the outcome was exactly what they'd wanted. Praise the Lord! We were prepared for him to be on a liquid diet for a couple of days, but on the night of his surgery he was eating Krystal's and Chick-fil-A!! The night in the hospital was CRAZy though. There were no private rooms available so we were sharing a room with a guy was siezed for 3 hours STRAIGHT before they finally took him to ICU! That all ended at midnight so then we were finally able to get some sleep! Thank the Lord! So the "patient" is home, painfree for the first time since high school (could you imagine?), and spending most of his time milking it on the couch with his "surgery gift" (and our other doggie, Bentley too!). Did I say "milking it"???????????!!!!!!!!!

Surgery Approved!

Blue Cross/Blue Shield approved David's surgery, and it is set for Tues (yes, in 2 days) at 10:10 am. Praise the Lord. So please remember to pray for him and for the surgeon that all will go well. Pray that the surgeon's hand (and everyone's involved) will be very steady and precise as they will be working very close to his spinal cord. I'll let you know how everything goes. We're excited because it should be very rewarding for David in that he'll finally be pain-free (well, after his recovery!). Until then... Happy Thanksgiving!!

This is Bertie... David's surgery gift!!!!!!!!! How sweet is he? And truly sweet he is. He's 3 months old, and we've had him for almost 2 weeks. He looks just like Bentley, our other cocker spaniel. We named him Bertie because of his furry head! You can't tell from this picture, but he has Einstein's hair on top of his little head, and you can't name a dog Einstein or Albert (sorry if either of those is your doggie's name!) so we named him Bert for short and added the /ie/ to the end!

David's Surgery

Well, for those of you who know David's neck surgery was supposed to be tomorrow morning, we've just found out that the insurance has declined paying for it, saying that it's experimental and not FDA approved. So we've appealed it and will hopefully have a different answer by Wednesday. Because it's been appealed, they will have to do further research, and then they will find that it was FDA approved in July 2007. So hopefully next week, he will have the surgery. We know that God is bigger than BC/BS, and we're just trusting that for whatever reason, he isn't supposed to have the surgery tomorrow so we are being okay with that. And we're just praying for a different outcome next week while he has some time off from work.

UGA vs Gators

This is a little old now, but I wanted to share it with you! On the night before the big game, David and I decided to roll our dear friends' house, Mike and Kendra. They are big Gator fans and were coming to watch the game with us that Saturday. So here's a couple of pics... we rolled his yard with red streamers and put UGA signs all in his yard, and a UGA blanket on his car. But I guess we were paid back by the outcome of the game, huh?! PS... Can I tell you how scared I was we were gonna get shot or arrested or something!!! Billie, this was for you!!

A-N had a big night Trick-or-Treating. After we went to a couple of our neighbor's homes, she had some candy, and that was all she wanted! After that, she just wanted to walk, carrying her candy in her hands as you see here!

For those 2 or 3 people who actually keep up with our blog, I'm sorry it's been so long!!! I have just been super-busy. Let's see...I finished up our neighborhood Bible study. We are finished until January when we'll start back up.... We got David set up for surgery which will be on Nov. 14. Please keep this in your prayers. The disk between his C5 and C6 vertebrae has basically exploded which causes him a lot of pain and even numbness in his arms. So they are going to do a disk replacement there. I'm so excited (and so is he) for him to have this surgery because the doctor said it is a very rewarding sugery in that as soon as it's over, the patient experiences instant relief. David says he's been in pain constantly since high school and has just learned to deal with it. He says he can't even imagine a "normal" life so this will be great. I'll be sure to post pics of him in the hospital gown and after the surgery when he's sporting his 'collar!' What else... We did LOVELOUD O8 this weekend which is where our church went in the community and literally served and loved on people. On Saturday, my friend Lisa and I gave 37 ladies manicures and pedicures. It was great fun, except my fingers are still covered in glue from all the fake nails!! And my mom came into town a couple of weekends ago, and she wanted to take A-N to Target to get her pic taken. So here's one of them. A-N said "Thank you" last night, and she can say "I"... It is the most REDNECKly accented 'I' you've ever heard!!! It's precious! I guess that's about it... and I'll be better about keeping you updated... I promise!!

A Day at the Zoo

I should say a couple of hours at the zoo! We took A-N to the zoo for the 1st time last Tuesday. She was still a little too young, but she enjoyed waving to the animals! Here are some picture of the afternoon and all of her cuteness! Seeing the tiger swim inches from us was awesome. And I especially like the picture of the back of our heads- we were watching the pigs eat!... Oh, and her little hand reaching out to touch the goat's nose... so sweet!

I have fun news... I think A-N is finally walking all by herself! This morning was the 1st day of a new Bible study that I'm leading with the women on our street. Another girl (and I, of course) have a child not yet in preschool so I felt that I needed to provide childcare. So I have one of my sweet friends, Emily Morgan (who has her own 6-month old little cutie) come and keep the kids while we do Bible study. I was just telling Emily that A-N still won't let go of my finger and walk, but I know she can do it. Well, after the study was over (It went really well, by the way), Emily said A-N walked across the room, all by herself, to the window to see Belle, Bonz, and Bentley playing outside. What?? Are you sure you didn't help her?! Of course she didn't walk for me the rest of the day! But when David came home from work... While she was on the floor playing, all of a sudden, she stood up, walked to the couch, got the remote from David and brought it to me, sitting a few feet away!!! So tonight, she got to stay up extra late just so we could watch her walk, taking the remote and Daddy's cell phone from one of us and giving it to the other!! Victory!! I know what you're thinking... I'm gonna soon miss those days of her being a little more contained! Now if we could only get her to talk!! I forgot to tell you though, on Sunday, her SS teacher, Miss Ann, told us that she said, "cracker" during Sunday School when she wanted one! One proud Mama here!!

Today was A-N's first day in Kindermusik class! She's the youngest in her class. Her teacher said she needed to skip the class that's really for her age group because she's too active and alert for the younger ones! (That's my smart little girl!!) I was a little nervous about how she'd do, but she did great! She listened well during story time, and her favorite instrument was the jingle bells! (She wasn't too thrilled when it was time to put them away!!) Here's a picture of her and her teacher, Miss Amy. There's also a picture of A-N when we first got to class with one of her classmates in the background! Oh, can you see her precious little pigtails?!

Last night as Ashley-Noelle was on her way to bed, David said, "Wanna go get ice cream?!" So we headed to Brusters for A-N's first taste of ice cream! She got a kiddie cup of chocolate and vanilla and ate every bit of it! Then she started helping me finish mine, until David gave her some of his chocolate shake... she LOVED it! From then on, she wouldn't have any of my ice cream, only Daddy's shake! By the way, look at her prissy crossed tootsies!

Straight Hair

Yesterday I had a thermal straightener put in my hair, and if you're not familiar with what this entails, I have a list of do's and don't's for the next 72 hours: No metal touching my hair (no haircuts), only sleep on a silk pillowcase, no being out in humidity, no sweating (oh, darn!), no bending my hair, no sunglasses or earrings, no tucking my hair behind me ears, etc. Can I tell you my hair is plastered to my head!! But in a couple more days, it'll be great and sooo easy to deal with again (It's been 4 yrs since my last one!). I'll have to get a picture to post.
